Moving...

wow. What a fast, fast few weeks since I last wrote. We have celebrated Christmas and brought in a new year. I have moved from the place that will always have my heart to be with the person who has won my heart. I have learned some of what it takes to be a "homeowner" and I have become a master at Pinterest Projects! I have also found time to be sick, sick and more sick within 6 days time...it has been a crazy time!

Christmas was fabulous, as usual. I got everything, I wanted, PLUS...so it was great. A few large items, a Kindle Fire, a Vera Bradley Hipster, Toms, a Vera Bradley Mini Hipster, some awesome pictures for hanging in our house, a waffle maker, clothes, jewelery and so, so much more...those are just the BIG things!

The day AFTER Christmas we moved on from Michigan. The trip started out fantastic. We ate lunch in a very timely manner at our favorite place in downtown Indianapolis (The Rathskeller) and then put the GPS's on for 7 Blackberry. According to both GPS units we were suppose to pull into our driveway sometime after 6PM...spoiler alert...THIS DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO HAPPENING. NO, it was not a bad calculation by 2 Garmins...it was rather a series of horrible events. 1. We moved 0 inches in traffic for essentially 2 hours. We later came to find out...when being turned around in a median that all of this was as a result of a horrible accident of a tanker truck that created a massive hazardous chemical spill...so God and the Emergency staff only know what those of us within three quarters of a mile have been exposed to! 2. Once we headed in the opposite direction we needed to go we found the route we needed to take to get back on our way to our home. This was more painful than waiting in the actual accident traffic. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make a backwoods winding road the connector to a five lane road with no left turn light the detour to 70 west was DUMB..and clearly did not graduate from a school known for its College of creating roads. Anyone who knows anything knows that sitting in traffic for hours upon hours is the WORSE! Our trip started out great and then just got worse and worse...to top it off the last hour of the drive was in rain which was also starting to become slush...so that was even better and then 4 since rain is 3 was once we finally got in the house and got the necessities to live for the night we ordered pizza which took over 75 minutes to reach our house...we watched with our own eyes the delivery car pass the house like 5 times...clearly they had too many "smoke" breaks on this Monday night!

I guess the good part is, is that we made it home in one piece with the remainder of our stuff...the cars are still in once piece and besides a few scrapes and cuts to ourselves the move was very successful and no one was injured! (you always here horror stories of cross country/cross state moves...we are NOT a statistic!)

In the past two weeks that we have made it to Missouri a lot has been accomplished.
1. We organized the basement...there are still beer signs and other artifacts that belong on walls sitting on the floor and on the bar and on the table...but they have been cleaned and organized and are ready for their home! The end where we have furniture and a TV now looks like a living room and is ready to get an area run have our 3 game counsels hooked up and is so cute! Bryan swept, vacuumed and sanitized the floors with pinsol...it looks so clean! We still have to clean the bar side floor...but it is 80% complete! Now we just need to clean the rest of the floors, organize the bar, paint the walls and hang up all of the beer treasures! It is going to look fantastic! I cannot wait to have my Birthday Party down there in May!
2. The furniture in the living room has been kind of reorganized...there is only ONE way that we can successfully move the furniture. We have ix-nayed the coffee table and decided to just have our nice big foot stool floating about. We just eat off from tray tables...which suit us just fine! We now just have our coffee table from the condo as a plant table that also serves as an end table for both our oversized chair and couch!

WOW this makes me sound like such a nerd...

To make a long list short...we have organized to better use our space and cleaned to make it even prettier! There is still so much more to do...but we are having a great time doing little projects here and there...it is fun to see the small projects make a huge difference!

Moving was overall a good experience. It was very stressful...I will not lie...it was one of the top five most stressful experiences I have ever participated in. I do think all of the stress...work..and anticipation/build up was well worth it. I love our house. I love St. Charles and obviously I still love Bryan.
